Without further ado, here are a few more resolutions to consider for 2014:

1) Learn a few German beer words. With just a handful of words, you will be able to maneuver yourself through any German beer list. You also might impress your friends by ordering a beer in German during your visit to Prost. Start now and you’ll be an expert by the time of Oktoberfest 2014!!! To get started check out this previous Prost Brewing blogpost here: http://blog.prostbrewing.com/2013/11/22/german-beer-names-for-the-american-dummy/ AND here: http://blog.prostbrewing.com/2013/05/20/piecing-together-german-bier-names/.

2) Try more German beers you can’t pronounce. Okay, maybe you think there are a lot of German beer names you can’t pronounce, but if you are a regular German beer drinker you can at least recognize the names. This New Year, we encourage you to branch out and try that Prost bier that you have never heard of and likely can’t even pronounce the name of. Don’t worry if you can’t pronounce the name because our team at Prost can help with that!

3) Educate yourself on the different styles of German beer. At Prost, we offer each of our patrons a chance to experience unique styles of beer that are often rare within the American beer industry. Many of our beers are hard to find in the states, often remaining exclusive to Germany. Thus, we encourage our guests to not just try our beers but to ask us questions about the different styles of German bier. Germany has had such a rich beer culture for so long that each of our beers has a story behind them, some of which extend way back to the Middle Ages. If you are too shy to ask, you can also stay tuned in to this blog which often tells the stories behind each one of Prost’s traditional German bier.

Take your pick or choose to add ALL three of these resolutions mentioned above to your New Year’s list of goals for 2014. Following through with one or any of these goals will ultimately increase your enjoyment and pleasure out of drinking authentic German bier. After all, when you drink traditional German bier, you are not just drinking beer but are getting the chance to experience a foreign culture. This year, take a vow to learn about German beer in a way that goes beyond your taste buds so that you may open yourself up to something novel and interesting about the beer loving culture of Germany!

Stay tuned for the last set of resolutions for the German beer lover coming this Friday!
