Märzen Oktoberfest

Märzen Oktoberfest

For the last two weeks, Prost Brewing’s Märzen Oktoberfest has been flowing from the taps at Denver’s only authentic German beer hall. But just as all good things come to an end, the tap for this year’s Märzen Oktoberfest will only flow for so long. If you have not yet experienced the Prost Brewing’s authentic taste of Oktoberfest, there is still time, but the clock is ticking, and other German beer lovers keep drinking more of the limited supplies of the Märzen Oktoberfest.

For those new to Oktoberfest and the German beer scene in general, Märzen is the traditional brew of Oktoberfest. As Oktoberfest is a celebration of fall, beer, and all things German, the traditional brew for this German festival has a taste profile that aligns with the changing seasons. Different from the golden yellow brews of the summer, Märzen is the color of fall with its orangish-red hue. Since cooler weather requires a drink that is a little more filling than the typical summer brew, Märzen’s style is characterized by a medium to full body. The flavor is malty and sweet, a welcome contrast to the summer bitters, and the finish is clean, dry, and crisp like the fall weather. For a little bit of extra fall comfort, Märzen Oktoberfest has a foamy white head that will coat your tongue with frothy pleasure. The scent of Märzen Oktoberfest speaks of fall above all else with its warm malted, bread-like aroma that is slightly sweet with a faint hop.

For an authentic taste of Oktoberfest that will comfort you with fall flavors, textures, and aromas, head to Prost Brewing this weekend for Prost Brewing’s very own Märzen Oktoberfest. Supplies are limited and won’t last long at the rate Denver German beer lovers are drinking this beloved, celebratory brew! Hurry in to get a taste of Oktoberfest while supplies last!
