Prost Brewing has found itself another perfect match in Boulder, Denver’s sister city located just a half hour away. In this town where foodies and craft beer enthusiasts abound is a little cafe known as Cafe Aion that takes pride in their food in the same way that Prost takes care in producing the highest quality traditional German brews this side of the Atlantic. When Cafe Aion’s passion for food met Prost Brewing’s passion for German beer, a match was made that resulted in the creation of a beer dinner that fits the description for a “foodie” heaven.

Luckily, for those of you not aware of this special event, you still have a chance to enjoy a slice of heaven. The beer event will be held this Thursday, September 19th from 5-10 p.m. at Cafe Aion in Boulder. This early fall dinner will pair dishes made from local and seasonal produce with four of Prost’s traditional German beers. Prost Brewing’s Kölsch, Prost Pils, Weißbier, and Dunkelbier will all be available either by the glass or as a three beer sampler.

If you have not attended a beer pairing before, this is your perfect chance to taste quality beer matched with quality food. Cafe Aion’s dishes are made with the same attention to detail as Prost Brewing’s traditional German brews. Fried cauliflower comes with a rare and unexpected accompaniment, saffron flavored yogurt, that is spiced up just enough with a few hefty pinches of cumin. These spices pair perfectly with Prost’s Weißbier filled with flavors of banana and clove.

Weißbier’s unique flavor profile also pairs well with Cafe Aion’s orange braised pork shoulder, as well as their German apple strudel and their German chocolate cake. Whatever you choose as your perfect ending to your slice of foodie heaven, don’t miss out on the German Windbeutel, the German form of the cream puff.

For this, any one of Prost’s beers will do.

Since German beer was originally created to be paired with food, the possibilities for making that perfect pairing are endless. Since both the beer and the food will be sold a la carte, you can order as much or as little as you so desire. Reservations are strongly recommended and can be made at 303-993-8131 or at www.cafeaion.com. Finally, don’t forget to start and end your meal with a “Prost!” (Cheers!).

Prost! & Guten Appetit!
