Beer & Cookies

You may be well aware of the tradition of eating a salt laden pretzel with a refreshing pint, but you might not have heard of enjoying a cookie along with your beer. Although, given that so many people enjoy both of these food items, it would not seem too far out of the ordinary to combine these two favorite foods. Taking it a step further, it might not even be a bad idea to make a food that brought together the rich flavors of your favorite brew with the seductive sweetness of say, your favorite chocolate chip cookie.

Before you head out to the store to begin your beer and cookie mixing experiments, you should know that one woman has already mastered such an art. Her company, The Cookie Brewer, ran out of Golden, Colorado has successfully blended Colorado’s favorite craft brews into to die for cookie recipes, creating an array of bite sized wonders for both beer and cookie lovers alike. Rooted in a love for baking and homebrewing, The Cookie Brewer set up shop in August 2012.

Now, the part of this blog that should stand as music to your ears is that BEER COOKIES are now available at Prost Brewing for your snacking delight. Even better, these cookies are made from Prost Brewing’s lineup of fine, classic German beers. For instance, the Cookie Brewer has artfully intertwined the flavors of Prost Brewing’s Weißbier into a White Chocolate Banana Weißbier cookie that will satisfy any sweet tooth. You might also try the classic chocolate chip cookie remake, a chocolate chip cookie made with a dash of sea salt and Prost’s smooth and malty Altfränkisches Dunkel Bier.
