St. Patty's Day Beer Lover

Despite major differences, the culture of Germany and Ireland share some similarities, particularly when it comes to beer and celebrations that include beer as an essential component.  While Germans drink beer in beer halls, the Irish drink their beer in pubs, but they are both fond of sharing beer with friends and strangers in a communal setting.  Thus, it is no surprise that Prost Brewing’s adaption of the Irish holiday of St. Patty’s Day to fit in with Prost’s traditional German style does not require too much re-shaping.

After all, the little German elves that normally reside among the nooks and crevices of Prost’s beer hall have some of the same mischievous habits as the wee-little Irish leprechauns that are infamous for their practical jokes, as well as their shoe-making, and their tendency to hoard gold at the end of the rainbow.  In light of the coming St. Patty’s Day celebration, the Prost’s little German elves are dressing up in all green to play the part of the leprechaun for this important festive occasion.  If you spot one lingering about, you might be able to trade some of your beer for a wee-bit of gold.  The little elves have a weakness for beer that makes even a sip worth a bit of their hoarded gold.

Leprechaun: Beer or Gold

With leprechauns and delicious flowing beer, the St. Patty’s Day celebration at Prost is almost complete–just in need of some hearty, lip-licking food, of course.  To feed that festive appetite, guests to Prost can enjoy food from Joe’s American bistro including burgers and mash, reuben sandwiches, grilled lamb sandwiches, and a vegetarian option for those non-meat eating friends of Prost.

Come early to Prost for free parking before the parade in the front gravel lot and in the Western back lot.  The doors at Prost will be open all day from 10 am onward so you may enjoy a brew and a hearty, satisfying feast anytime of the day.

On St. Patty’s Day, when Irish eyes are smiling, its German beer they’re viewing that was just brewing at Prost.  Come enjoy St. Patty’s Day at Prost where the elves will be disguised as leprechauns, and endless amounts of lip-licking food will be eaten all day long.  Whether you are an Irish lass or not, Prost Brewing will have you singing the irish drinking song, “When Irish Eyes are Smiling” as any beer lover should on St. Patty’s Day.
